License and trial
Your license key
Where do I find my key, and how do I use it?
It arrives in your receipt email the moment you buy, and it's also on your orders page at Lemon Squeezy, who handle the payment. Keep that email — you'll want the key again on your next computer.
To use it, open Clearing, go to Settings → License, and paste it in. That's the whole thing. There's no account to make and nothing to sign into.
One key covers five installations. An installation is one copy of Clearing: each Chrome profile on each computer counts separately. Two profiles on one laptop is two, and the same profile on a laptop and a desktop is also two. Five covers a personal and a work profile on two machines, with one spare.
If a key is already on five installations, Clearing says so when you try to register another one, and offers to do something about it. Register and release the rest unregisters every other installation of the key and registers this one, leaving you using 1 of 5. You'll see exactly that before you confirm it, and you can register the others again whenever you like with the same key.
If you'd rather keep the others and free a single slot, unregister that one from Settings → License on the machine it's on — that frees its slot immediately. If that machine is gone, Unregister all from any machine still registered releases them all, and you register the ones you still use.
If none of that is possible, support@getclearing.app can release the whole key for you.
If a purchase is refunded, the key stops working and Clearing returns to its unlicensed state.
