License and trial

How the trial works

What do I get for free, and what happens when it ends?

Seven days, every feature, no payment details.

To get the whole seven days, give Clearing your email address in Settings → License. It takes a moment and there's no account to create. Without it, Clearing starts reminding you after a day and stops responding after two — registering is what starts the clock properly.

Your address stays on your machine. What gets sent is a scrambled version of it that can't be turned back into an email address, which is how your seven days survive an uninstall and reinstall.

When the seven days are up, Clearing asks you to buy a license: first a notice you can dismiss, then one that stays, and after that the grid greys and stops responding until you do. Your tabs are untouched throughout — it's Clearing that stops being usable, not your browser.

A license is $15, paid once, and everything comes back the moment you enter the key.
